Impermanence, fragility, not more but less object, less sacred and less solid.
I want my work to engage the viewer in understanding. Understanding is entirely different from knowing, from knowledge. Knowledge is something you can take out of one box and place into another. Understanding however, happens in the gap between two states, two ideas, two mental places, it happens upon agreeing to jump this gap in the hope that the place you land might be closer to this second place. Undertaking even a small jump, and the ensuing fall, is the ultimate interaction possible with my work, for myself or for anyone else.
